LAVIV™ is a revolutionary new treatment that involves culturing patients’ own fibroblasts (skin cells) to restore fullness and collagen. This personalized cell therapy is the first FDA-approved procedure of its kind. Cells are sample from a patient’s own skin, then cultured in an off-site laboratory to expand the number of collagen producing cells, which are eventually injected into the patient. This means that collagen enhancement can occur without introducing a foreign substance into the body. Because LAVIV injections are made from a patient’s own tissue, the body does not attempt to break down the filler material. As a result, the improvements from LAVIV are much longer lasting than traditional treatments.
XEOMIN is for the temporary improvement in the appearance of moderate to severe glabellar lines, or frown lines between the eyebrows, in adult patients. Like BOTOX® Cosmetic and Dysport®, Xeomin works by blocking nerve signals to the muscles that cause facial wrinkles. What makes Xeomin unique is that it contains no additives; Xeomin is only botulinum toxin type A. This greatly lessens the chance of an allergic reaction to injection. Xeomin is produced by Merz Aesthetics, the makers of Radiesse® volumizing filler, as well as another, new dermal filler, called Belotero.
Belotero is a Hyaluronic acid dermal filler, made of the same volumizing and moisturizing component of natural skin, that subtly reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles. When injected, it instantly plumps and adds volume to the areas where it has been lost. Even the finest lines can be treated effectively with Belotero. Unlike other fillers, patients are unlikely to feel the implant, but will certainly see the refreshing results.
