Vein Therapies

Your legs don't need to have unsightly veins that age your look. Dr. Rhoda Narins, dermatologic cosmetic surgeon, offers Westchester County residents a variety of effective treatments for resolving spider veins and varicose veins.

Sclerotherapy, Laser, & Varicose Vein Treatment

Dr. Narins offers sclerotherapy, laser, and varicose vein treatment therapies to resolve unsightly veins that might be making them want to keep covered up. Sclerotherapy and laser treatments effectively get rid of spider veins, while ambulatory phlebectomy treats the larger varicose veins. These therapies provide many benefits including:

  • Resolving unsightly veins
  • Decreasing pain in the legs
  • Providing safe, virtually painless treatments with no downtime

Dr. Narins will perform a brief examination and recommend an appropriate vein treatment plan when you visit her for your private consultation.

Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is a safe and comfortable non-surgical method to eliminate unsightly leg veins. Dr. Narins performs sclerotherapy as a simple office procedure by injecting small amounts of a mild sclerosing solution into the targeted veins. The solution alters the vein wall, causing it to shrink. The natural cleansing action of the body absorbs the veins, causing them to disappear within 3 weeks to 6 months depending on vein size. You may need to return for repeat treatments depending on the extent of the treatment areas, as well as your body's response to sclerotherapy.

Laser Vein Treatment

Dr. Narins uses modern laser technology to treat spider veins that are too small to treat with sclerotherapy. The Vbeam® laser is a pulse-dye laser that targets pigment in the red blood cells, eliminating spider veins to reveal clearer skin. These treatments consist of an easy office visit, with minimal pain and no recovery time.

Ambulatory Phlebectomy

Dr. David Narins uses ambulatory phlebectomy to remove larger varicose veins that can't be effectively treated with sclerotherapy or lasers. This minimally invasive technique, performed through pinhole incisions using local tumescent anesthesia, permits removal of almost all larger varicose veins. It is performed in our AAAASF certified surgical suite under local tumescent anesthesia. Dr. Narins often combines this treatment with sclerotherapy for more complete results.
