Fractional CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing

Dr. Rhoda Narins, a dermatologic cosmetic surgeon, can improve your appearance as well as your outlook by helping your skin look fresh and feel silky soft again. Less invasive than the UltraPulse-5000 laser, the fractional CO2 laser can renew your skin with very little downtime. Dr. Narins has years of specialized training and experience performing carbon dioxide laser skin resurfacing treatments for her Westchester County patients, as well as those who visit her from across the nation and around the world. She will customize this revolutionary treatment for you.

Conditions Treated

Dr. Narins makes it practically effortless to have skin that looks young and healthy, without requiring time out for recovery. She uses a fractional CO2 laser on areas like the face, neck, décolletage, and hands, to give her patients a variety of improvements including:

  • Minimizing enlarged pores
  • Smoothing away wrinkles, fine lines, and superficial scars
  • Correcting uneven pigmentation, including sun spots and age spots
  • Tightening the skin

Laser skin rejuvenation treatments give patients from Westchester County effective facial rejuvenation. Results can be even more impressive through a combination of other quick and effective "no downtime" treatments, including BOTOX® Cosmetic injections, dermal fillers, other lasers, skin care, and Thermage radiofrequency skin tightening.

How It Works

The fractional CO2 laser works much like the standard CO2 laser except that it affects only discrete, pinpoint columns of the skin, leaving alternating areas unaffected. The laser's heat energy instantly treats the wrinkles, pigmentation, and other targeted conditions while it causes existing collagen to tighten. The laser also stimulates collagen production for continued improvements in skin tone and texture for months.

These minimally-invasive treatments are virtually pain free and can produce a sunburned look of mild redness for about 2 to 5 days. Some patients experience mild peeling as well. Depending on the condition of your skin and your enhancement goals, Dr. Narins will customize your treatment by adjusting the density and depth of the laser.
